Protect Our Community Members
To Whom It May Concern: We the undersigned strongly believe that we must protect our community members, especially the seniors, survivors of domestic violence, children and college students. The Governor and Legislature have put the burden of balancing the budget on very low-income families, immigrants, survivors of domestic violence, children, seniors, and people with disabilities. These individuals are already vulnerable and must not be further devastated due to these cuts to critical health and human services. Therefore, we DEMAND that the State of California reinstate the following critical public health programs and provide funding for those with severe cuts or frozen funds, including but not limited to the following: · Medi-Cal, CAPI and CFAP · Healthy Families Program for all children and CalWorks for low-income families · Kaiser Permanente Cares for Kids · In-Home Supportive Services and SSI/SSP · Cal Grant Program for low-income College Students · The Domestic Violence Program
Especially in these difficult times, we as Californians must all come together and participate in solutions for our budget because it directly affects our daily lives and our communities. For a stable, healthier future, we urge you to save these programs.
